Application Process:

Requirements:

As Required by Florida Statute:

• A student must be 16 years of age by the first day of school
• 2.0 GPA

Other Requirements:

• On track for graduation with credits
• Excellent attendance
• Excellent discipline
• Students applying for dual enrollment programs that can be completed within the school year must meet the TABE exit requirement. (i.e. Patient Care Tech)
• Students accepted for a dual enrollment program (other than above) must complete TABE testing within six weeks of the first day of class.
• Proof of accident insurance by the first day of school
• Minimum FCAT scores

The Process:

Students from all OCPS high schools have the opportunity to apply for dual enrollment.  The process is simple.

1. Get an application from your high school guidance counselor or dual enrollment coordinator.
2. Fill out the application completely and return it to your counselor/coordinator.
3. If you meet the dual enrollment criteria, your high school will arrange a campus visit where you will have the opportunity to shadow the program you are interested in.
4. Return the paperwork you receive at the campus visit to the tech center as soon as possible.
5. Your high school will be notified in May as to who was accepted!
