Requirements:
As Required by Florida Statute:
- A student must be 16 years of age by the first day of school
- 2.0 GPA
Other Requirements:
- On track for graduation with credits
- Excellent attendance
- Excellent discipline
- Students applying for dual enrollment programs that can be completed within the school year must meet the TABE exit requirement. (i.e. Patient Care Tech)
- Students accepted for a dual enrollment program (other than above) must complete TABE testing within six weeks of the first day of class.
- Proof of accident insurance by the first day of school
- Minimum FCAT scores
The Process:
Students from all OCPS high schools have the opportunity to apply for dual enrollment. The process is simple.
- Get an application from your high school guidance counselor or dual enrollment coordinator.
- Fill out the application completely and return it to your counselor/coordinator.
- If you meet the dual enrollment criteria, your high school will arrange a campus visit where you will have the opportunity to shadow the program you are interested in.
- Return the paperwork you receive at the campus visit to the tech center as soon as possible.
- Your high school will be notified in May as to who was accepted!
